We all know teenagers can be moody and sleep a lot. That’s because they are growing quickly and may not be getting the required nutrients and calories to keep up with their physical and mental growth.
Teens usually have a stigma attached to them that they binge on unhealthy sweet foods with loads of additives and e numbers and although for many this may still be the case, many are taking their wellbeing more seriously.
There has been an uprising of teens gravitating towards veganism as they recognise that considering this sort of diet not only benefits the themselves but has environmental benefits also.
This is not an initiative that all teens live by, but one thing is for sure, growing teens can have very healthy appetites and can turn to snacks to keep hunger at bay and energy levels up.
Snacking can conjure up visions of sugar filled chocolate bars and high calorie crisp packets, but snacks can be healthy, and some healthy options are better than others at supplying energy, vitamins and minerals (all important aspects of a healthy diet).
